The Brazilian midfielder, Juninho is now set to feature in the USA Major League Soccer when the season kicks off after agreeing a return deal with his former club Los Angeles Galaxy. LA Galaxy successfully agreed a term with Brazilian club Sao Paulo to get the services of Juninho after long weeks of talks between the two clubs. The announcement was made on Tuesday by LA Galaxy officials that they have reached an agreement with Sao Paulo FC to acquire midfielder on loan. The two clubs agreed on a loan term that will see Juninho stay at USA Major League Soccer till the end of 2012 MLS season.
Alongside Juninho, LA Galaxy also signed defender Leonardo who was on free transfer. Leonardo who is a former defender of Sao Paulo is set to join Los Angeles Galaxy on permanent basis. Both Juninho and Leonardo are former LA Galaxy players and were extremely happy to return to the club. They played for Los Angeles Galaxy during 2010 and 2011 season during which they had great time at USA Major League Soccer and their positive impacts were largely felt by the club. In particular, they both helped the club win Supporters’ Shield for the second time and MLS Cup for the third time. They were very instrumental for the two wins.
Juninho is expected to travel to Southern California next week to join other players for preseason trip to Arizona. USA Major League Soccer is just about to resume and LA Galaxy have scheduled their preseason warm-up games in Arizona. The club is expected to benefit greatly from Juninho who was their All-Star last season before leaving for Sao Paulo. The 23 years old Brazilian midfielder started 30 regular games for LA Galaxy last season and was very instrumental for the club.
